Chinese Crested
When it comes to dog breeds with a unique appearance, the Chinese Crested is one of the first animals that comes to mind. Part of the toy breeding group, the Chinese Crested comes in two forms either being almost completely hairless or having thick hair that gives it a unique, classy appearance. While sometimes appearing goofy, the Chinese Crested has a natural air of class and can easily rise to any marketing, modelling, or acting brief; a characteristic that has made it a popular choice of dog breed within mainstream media.
The Chinese Crested dog breed has an interesting history with experts being unsure as to where – and when – the breed actually originated. In ancient times many large hairless dogs were brought from Africa to Asia, many of which were bred to smaller sizes by the Chinese who were obsessed with toy breeds. It’s believed that the Chinese Crested were one of these breeds and that through the Chinese trade industry were carried across the oceans where they made it into local ports and established themselves as a local breed. While still one of the rarer dog breeds, the Chinese Crested can now be found across every continent where they have are widely loved.
Being known as a friendly and well-mannered breed, the Chinese Crested is well suited toward television work and is usually more than happy to interact with other animals.
The Chinese Crested is an animal that generally has good health and is pleasant toward others, however, we still ensure that all of our models are fully checked to ensure they are comfortable working within a range of industries.
