Bouvier Des Flandres
The Bouvier des Flandres is a herding dog breed originating in Flanders, Belgium. They were originally used for general farm work including cattle droving, sheep herding, and cart pulling, and nowadays as guard dogs and police dogs, as well as being kept as pets. The Bouvier des Flandres’ passion for work makes it a prime dog breed for working on set and providing an identity to various brands and industries.
Historically, farmers in the Flanders area wanted to have a single breed of dog that would be able to carry out all of the work that needed to be done. Hence the Bouvier des Flandres came in. The First World War heavily reduced the population of the Bouvier des Flandres to almost the point of extinction before their numbers were boosted by the Belgian army and expatriates in the US. Today you can see them being utilised in a variety of roles due to their versatility, intelligence, and desire to carry out their work to the highest level.
At Urban Paws UK we carry out a great number of animal checks before making them available for hire. We always ensure that they are fully trained and comfortable working within a wide range of environments as well as making sure that they have the latest vaccinations and medical checks.
