Chimera
A feline chimera is a cat whose cells contain two types of DNA, caused when two embryos fuse together. Among cats, chimeras are really not all that rare. In fact, most male tortoiseshell cats are chimeras. The distinctively mottled orange and black coat is a sign that the cat has an extra X chromosome. Chimera cats are completely unique-looking and are a great way to differentiate your brand from others within the industry.
Due to being a genetic abnormality rather than an actual breed, the personality of a Chimera is difficult to predict. Regularly much of their temperament will be dictated by their genetics as well as the way in which they have been brought up. One of the most interesting things about Chimeras is that they can look completely unique even amidst other Chimeras. Depending on the DNA that is fused, some Chimeras end up looking like a regular cat whilst others can go as far as to have different characteristics on each side of their face.
Correct training methods are vital in ensuring a cat is comfortable within various different environments. At Urban Paws we carry out checks into the medical condition as well as training level of all of our animals to ensure that they are able to work without posing a threat to people and animals on set.
